What does “photography team” really mean?
We’re glad you asked. Fancy This isn’t a one-person show — it’s a creative collective led by Nikki (our communication queen and behind-the-scenes orchestrator) alongside a group of talented, deeply experienced photographers. Everyone on the team brings their own spark, and together we create a seamless, supportive, wildly creative experience for our couples and clients.

It’s not just teamwork. It’s magic, multiplied.

How would you describe your photographic style?
We call it true-to-life portraiture with a pulse. Think rich, organic color, natural light when it sings, and a deep reverence for raw, unfiltered emotion. We’ve got the technical chops of a portrait studio (hello, flattering light and intentional framing) but with the heart of a documentary artist.

Bottom line: You’ll look like yourself — just lit like a damn masterpiece.

How many photos will we receive?
You can expect a beautifully edited gallery of 700–900 images for full-day coverage, depending on your wedding timeline. We’re not in the business of flooding you with fluff — every image has intention, heart, and a story to tell.

What’s your pricing for wedding collections?
On average, our couples invest about $5,000 for an 8-hour wedding day. It’s a thoughtful investment in timeless images, a seamless experience, and a team who’s all in from start to finish.

Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?
Without hesitation: yes.
We’re proud allies, loud celebrators, and the kind of team who shows up with our whole hearts. Love is love — and it’s always worthy of beautiful documentation.

Do you use second shooters?
We sure do. We work with a trusted circle of talented second shooters whose style and energy align with the Fancy This experience. Each one brings their own creative strengths, and together we’re a dynamic (and well-oiled) machine.

Do you travel for weddings?
Does confetti sparkle? Absolutely. While we’re based in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill triangle of North Carolina, we frequently travel for beach weddings, mountain vows, and international celebrations. Our passports are current, and our bags are half-packed.

Will all of our images be edited?
Every. Single. One.
We don’t send anything out the door that doesn’t meet our standard — polished, consistent, and deeply representative of the Fancy This aesthetic.

Can we print our images ourselves?
Yes! Every wedding client receives full printing rights. That said, not all printers are created equal. Drugstore labs often don’t color correct or calibrate properly, which can dull or warp your images. We recommend ordering through your gallery for professional-quality prints that truly do your day justice.

Do you offer albums and prints?
Absolutely — and we think you should. There’s nothing like holding your wedding day in your hands. Our heirloom albums and prints are crafted to last, custom-designed, and emotionally irresistible. You got all dressed up for one of the biggest moments of your life — this deserves more than just a Dropbox folder.

Can you hold our date?
To officially reserve your wedding date, we require a 25% retainer. Once that’s in, the date is yours, and we’re in full planning mode.

How long does it take to get our photos?
Your final gallery will be delivered within 10 weeks of your wedding — but don’t worry, we won’t leave you hanging. You’ll receive a handful of sneak peeks shortly after your day to keep the magic going while we edit with care.

They did more than take photos of us and for that I’m very grateful. There is a lot of pressure to make sure everything is perfect for your wedding, but now after reflection the only thing that you need to absolutely get right is your photographer. Making sure their energy matches yours and making sure the style of photography matches the feeling you want to feel when you look back on your memories. I keep going back to these photos, and I am quickly transported back to our magical day.
